The Employment Branding and Channels team manages campaigns for the NSW teach government organisation (www.teach.nsw.edu.au), responsible for promoting campaigns relating to opportunities offered for new and current teachers across NSW. On average, NSW teach campaigns has a social media presence with over 50,000 followers, EDM campaigns with over 70,000 subscribers and 1.75 million views per annum accessing the teach organisation website.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, enhancing and reporting on website activities, including web content, SEO and website analytics for teach.NSW.
- Participating in development of new digital content, and providing technical support for content creators.
- Uploading and managing weekly Jobfeed adverts (Website, EDM and JobFeed App).
- Performing usability reviews of existing sites and proposed designs.
- Crafting website content and graphics by coordinating copywriting, and designing images, icons, banners and enhancements.
- Designing digital image files for use in digital and traditional printing methods.
Achievements:
- JobFeed Script - During my time as a Senior Advisor, one of my achievements was streamlining a new weekly JobFeed process for temporary and permanent teaching jobs by creating an online tool in MongoDB (JS Script) to process and filter the CSV data-sheets and turning the output data into a more manageable format for EDMs and for our teach.NSW website. Overall, this greatly reduced the occurrence of human errors and the resource hoursneeded for branding and promotions, and ultimately boosted overall productivity. This was something that was recognised by my manager John Willison and my Lead Ian Quintos and my peers.
- Facebook Live Q&A - In August 2017, I had the pleasure of integrating Facebook Live Q&A streaming servicesinto our branding and promotions. This campaign received high exposure, as it provided real-time personal engagement with our audience and a cost-effective solution. For each Live Q&A event held, I was appointed as a technical team member to aid in the set up and running ofthe events.
- Event QR-Codes - During 2016-2017, I introduced and campaigned for the use of QR-Codes for branding and events. During this time, I had created a sign-up form at that users at these events werea ble to access simply by scanning the QR-Code using their mobile phones. This has since been a valuable, time efficient resource our team has continued to use.
- Events and Promotions Team - I have successfully researched and developed a form solution for our eventsteam, where by subscriber’s information can be collected offline and stored locally on an iPad device. This solutionhas helped to minimise problems caused in collecting subscriber’s information, particularly those from remote locations with poor internet connection.
- Instagram Filter AR filters - I designed an Instagram filter using Spark AR studio. This filter was used to displayvirtual ‘cards’ on the top of users heads, reading “what type of teacher should you become”. The virtual card then rolls through randomised options such as: science teacher; maths teacher; English teacher, etc until stopping at arandom option. This filter was designed to be used at major events with high school students as an attraction method for the Event stalls in the hopes that students would visit our Instagram page and download the filter, which would ultimately rampup traffic and engagement with ourmain website.
- Drones for rural and remote programmes - During 2016, I campaigned for the use of drones for our rural and remote video productions for teach.NSW, which were later implemented.
